EQ:  How do I solve compound inequalities?

Tuesday:
BR:  Use the numbers -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

  1. Which numbers are less than or equal to -1 and greater than or equal to -2?
  2. Which numbers are greater than 1 or less than -3?
  3. Which numbers are less than or equal to -2 and less than or equal to 2?
  4. Which numbers are greater than -1 or greater than 3?

Wednesday:
BR: Solve -3 < 2x – 5 < 11

Lesson:

  1. Discuss BR.
  2. Discuss compound inequalities.
  3. Discuss writing an inequality that represents a set of numbers.
  4. Discuss writing an inequality that represents a real world situation.
  5. Discuss solving compound inequalities.

Assignment:
Algebra I Textbook: pp. 349 – 352 # 13 – 35 odd, 49 – 54
